The Bunches story began 15 years ago when Erik and Sandra Hoving decided to have a complete career and life change. Erik, formerly a fabric salesman and Sandra, formerly a nurse, started selling flowers under a 3 x 4 metre umbrella in Mansfieldâ??s four seasons shopping centre in 1988. However, within a few months of trading Erik had the idea of setting up a mail order business sending flowers by post anywhere in the UK, and within 6 months of his idea Bunches as known today was born.
As all new businesses, Bunches had very small beginnings with Erik and Sandra buying stock, taking orders and packing the flowers in their own garage! However, before long the business started to grow and in 1990 Bunches moved into a factory with a small call centre and despatch area.
From the start Bunches has built its reputation on excellent customer service, excellent quality flowers and great value prices. These three values are what still drives the company forward today and Erik believes that it is these values that makes Bunches the successful business that it is!
Bunches is still family owned and run by Erik & Sandra with their daughter, Danielle, heading up the marketing. Based in a large, purpose-built premises in Nottinghamshire, Bunches has certainly seen a lot of change, particularly with the introduction of their first website in 1998. The company has grown from sending 10 flowers by post a week in the beginning to successfully delivering more then 2 million bouquets and each year Bunches sees further growth and change as the company focuses on what the customer wants. |
